Application for a licence to distribute, publish, translate or use a UDC productThe content of the Universal Decimal Classification is the copyright of the UDC Consortium (UDCC) and the formal permission of the UDCC is needed to reproduce any parts of the UDC, including translation. The UDCC is committed to supporting other bodies who wish to make it easier for users to access, understand or use the UDC, and also UDC products that are of greatest value to them, whether in the original language edition or in translations and whatever the extent of reproduction. However, to safeguard the intellectual property in the UDC and the contributions made by UDCC members to maintain the UDC, the UDCC is committed also to take action against any party that reproduces UDC material without proper permission. Such permission is an automatic right of an Executive Member of the Consortium, and the UDCC will review applications for licences from others who wish to supply UDC products to their own communities or make use of existing UDC products. The terms of each licence are intended to protect the interests of the UDCC and licensees and they also aim to ensure that each licence is exclusive and, therefore, that no two licences overlap. If you wish to distribute copies of an existing UDC publication, produce
your own copies, translate existing publications into another language,
